454 rods

I am currently doing a very limited budget rebuild on my 454. Some of the stock rods have a "pinkish orange coloring at the small end. The all mic out to specs and were in a perfectly good running engine until I went to "rebuilt the carb" lol..and "while I was at it....I might just as well put an intake gasket on...and sinc eI was that far...."

Any ideas or info would be great, I have pic's I can send, I would add them here but I am not sure how.
