I did the same bird, i put it on a table top, it is a poster I bought from walmart, i cut it out laid it on the table than painted mountain and sky around it, covered it with clear. I think I have a picture of it posted here
if someone can invent it, you can repair it you, just need to try, Plus maybe have a repair manual
