Grew up in the family owned businesses including newspaper distribution, surplus stores, hardware stores, and canvis specialty shop.(yes by definition I was a seemstress) Been a wrench bender sense I was 10 I guess. Built my first engine at 16, my first car for the street at 17. Learned to use a cutting torch when I was 12, I could blow out a 1/4" rivet in 1/8" steel without dammaging the surrounding metal, began gas and arc welding at 14. Became one of the first to be certified for high steel structural welding with a mig in '78.
I've been a Welder, Mechanic, Machinist, Fabricator, Carpenter, Cabinet and Furniture maker. along with doing work on private yachts. Also been a qualified weapons instructor. Been a Pro Drag Racer, Off Road Racer, and Pro Competition Shooter, along with playing Semi Pro Football, AAA softball, and soccer.(got to play soccer against The Boss, Bruce Springstine once)
Anything to do with my hands seems to come easy to me even without schooling.
I was working in construction until I was 53 when I was forced into early retirement due to a medical issue.
